How to Fix Windows 10 Taskbar not Hiding
Taskbar is one of the most important features that you can discover in the Windows operating system. It is properly displayed on your computer at most of the instances as well. However, you still have the freedom to hide the taskbar as well.
If you want to utilize that space or get any other work done, you will come across the need to hide it. That’s where you should access the feature available to you and hire the taskbar.
There are two methods available for you to hide the taskbar automatically as well. The first method out of them is to hide the taskbar in desktop mode. Or else, you can hide the taskbar in tablet mode as well.
The issue
In some of the instances, you will notice that the ability offered to you by Windows in order to hide the taskbar is not functioning properly.
In such a situation, you need to understand what the exact problem is. We will share some of the most common problems that keep your Windows 10 taskbar from not hiding along with the solutions that you can take against it.
All you have to do is to follow these steps and get your job done at the end of the day.
Restart Windows Explorer
Taskbar is a component that can be found within Windows Explorer. In some of the instances, Windows Explorer would not work optimally.
Some other processes running in the computer would clash with Windows Explorer and keep you away from getting the optimal functionality.
In here, the solution available for you to try is a simple one. All you have to do is to go ahead and restart Windows Explorer.
You should navigate to Windows Task Manager to restart Windows Explorer. You can do that by right clicking on the taskbar. Or else, you can press the keyboard shortcut Control + Alt + Delete and access the Task Manager as well.
Then you should navigate to Processes Tab. You should scroll down to the bottom until you see Windows Explorer.
Once you spot Windows Explorer, you must right click on it and click on Restart. This will restart explorer and help you to experience the desired functionality.
Change Windows settings
If this problem is happening to you over and over again or if the above-mentioned solution didn’t work, you should deep dive and find the issue.
That’s where you should navigate to settings. You can simply access Windows Settings by pressing on the Windows Key of your computer and typing Settings.
You should then navigate to Personalization tab. Under the Personalization Tab, you should navigate to Taskbar.
In here, you will be able to see an option called “Select which icons to appear on taskbar”. You will be able to locate that under the Notification Area.
You should check and make sure that you turn on the functionality to show all the icons in notification area. Then you will be able to get a clear overview of all the different icons. Along with that, you will be able to locate the culprit with ease as well.
Once you turn on this option, you will be able to see few different icons in the taskbar. This will be temporarily. You will be able to turn it off after you figure out the solution.
Once you make all the icons visible, you can click on the auto hide again and see whether it is functioning properly or not.
Then you can keep on hiding individual icons to see whether the taskbar is hiding. If the taskbar is not hiding when you turn off a specific icon, you will notice that there is no possibility to get any positive results at the end of the day. Along with that, you will be able to locate the culprit with ease.
Use the Windows Search feature
You will also be able to use the Windows search feature to locate a solution for the problem that you have with taskbar auto hiding.
In here, you should click on the search button located in the taskbar. Then you will have to look for search box on it. However, you should be careful not to click on the search button.
Once you see the search window, you need to click on somewhere on the desktop. Then you will be able to see how the search is disappearing. Along with that, you can also see how the taskbar auto-hiding feature is working normally.
Follow these three methods and you will be able to resolve the problem that you have in a convenient manner. You will fall in love with it.
